About us:
The generalate and motherhouse is the administrative and spiritual center
of the worldwide congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame. As the heart of
the congregation, it is fittingly located in Rome close to the center of Catholicism.
The community of the motherhouse is an international group of sisters from
a variety of countries throughout the SND world; currently there are sisters
from Brazil, Germany, India, Indonesia, South Korea, the Netherlands and the
United States.
The
motherhouse is home to sisters preparing for their final vows, to sisters of
our own and other religious communities from various countries studying at
universities in Rome and or to sisters participating in programs on spirituality
and religious life. Together we share in the mission
of Jesus with an apostolic
heart that all may experience God’s love and goodness and may have life
to the full.
Ministries include:
- Administration of the congregation
- Apostolate of prayer
- Communications
- Formation for religious life
- Hospitality to visitors from around the world
- Tutoring in various languages
