In prayerfully discerning a call to religious life, the next steps along
this path include:
visiting religious
communities, beginning the
discernment process with the community, and
entering the initial stages of religious
life.

Visiting religious communities
It is a good idea to visit a community to find out more and to get to know
some of the members. Many religious communities schedule discernment
weekends or days for taking a closer look at religious life and at their
community.
It may take more than one visit to really get a feel for whether you
think you could live in that community.
You might want to consider the following:
-
Do I feel God calling me here?
-
Could I feel at home with people in this community?
-
Do I resonate with their mission?
-
Can this community use my particular gifts? (Keep in mind that you can
also develop gifts later that you might not be aware of now.)
We would be happy to have you come to visit us. Contact one of our vocation
directors to
help you schedule a visit and to find out about discernment events. Nothing
substitutes
for meeting
people in person, but you can click on Travel
