The Motherhouse Community welcomed to Rome eight of our first sisters from East Africa. The sisters are Sister Mary Immaculate, Sister Mary Juliet, and Sister Therese Marie from Uganda. Sister Mary Christine, Sister Mary Elizabeth, Sister Mary Magdalene, Sister Mary Pascalia, and Sister Mary Teresa from Tanzania/Kenya.

The sisters will participate in the Spirituality Renewal in Coesfeld starting on July 7. From June 27 to July 5 the sisters had the opportunity to visit the Motherhouse and some of the sites of Rome. The group was privileged to participate in the Holy Father’s Mass at the Vatican on the feast of Saint Peter and Saint Paul.

Their visit included other places like the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, the four major Basilicas, and of course, Assisi. The visit has given our sister students from Korea and Indonesia and an opportunity to meet the newer members from Africa.

The Motherhouse is enjoying all of this youthful excitement especially as we follow the happenings of the World Cup. Our cheering could be heard in all the different languages and styles.

On Sunday we celebrated the Holy Mass with a lively international singing. The drum beats and musical instruments along with melodious voices echoed in Casa Madre chapel.
