Established 1962

The Province Our Lady of Aparecida, is located in Canoas, RS, and was created as a second province of the Sisters of Notre Dame in Brazil. The expansion of Ministries and the increase of membership, in addition to long distances and difficulty of communication, made it necessary to form this second province in Brazil. Called to incarnate God’s goodness and provident care, we follow Jesus Christ and witness to His life, educating people to be conscious of their dignity, to be engaged in caring for human life and creation at in the light of the Notre Dame charism: a deep experience of God’s goodness and provident care.

The Province celebrates October 12th, the Feast of Our Lady of Aparecida, as its Patronal Feast
