The Vocational Year, an event that has taken place in Brazil since 1983, is in its third edition. It began on November 20, 2022 and will conclude on November 26 of this year. Its goal is to motivate the people of God by its theme: “Vocation: Grace and Mission”, and its motto: “Burning hearts, feet on the way” (Cf Lk 24:32-33), both of which recall the experience of the disciples on the road to Emmaus.

Sister Cristiane Maria, the Vocational Animation Service Director of Our Lady Aparecida Province, encouraged the Sisters to fully engage in the Vocational Year: “In communion with the entire Church in Brazil, we recommend actions to promote dialogue as well as to encourage awareness and cultivation of possible vocations. This year, dedicated to vocations, is also an excellent opportunity to promote a vocational culture in our communities and places of ministry and strengthen our identity as missionary disciples and followers of Jesus.”

Along with the written message, each community received the symbol of the Vocational Year as a reminder of their commitment to carrying out initiatives in support of vocations. In May, the Brazilian pilgrims also took the symbol to the Motherhouse.

Attentive to the signs of Jesus’ call, we accompany and help those who are still trying to discover their vocation.
